GSC Students, Employees Take 'It's On Us WV' Pledge
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College students, faculty, and staff took part in the ‘It’s On Us WV’ pledge this week. The goal of the ongoing program is to raise awareness about sexual violence on college campuses throughout West Virginia. The event took place concurrently with similar events at other West Virginia colleges and is part of a nationwide initiative to encourage people to make a commitment to help end sexual assault.
GSC Opens New Student Lounge
Last semester, students at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College expressed an interest in having a space designed specifically for non-traditional students to spend their free time between or after classes. That idea for such a space has been turned into a new lounge.
Online International Learning Connects West Virginia and Hispanic Cultures
Preparing today's students for living and working in a global community is an important aspect to the educational and social programs at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College. Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is a new way that students and faculty on the campus are doing just that.
GSC Announces 2015 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµcoming Schedule
The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Student Government Association and the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµcoming Committee have planned a number of activities for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends during the week of September 21 for GSC’s annual Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµcoming celebration. This year’s theme is ‘GSC ♥’s the 90’s’ – which celebrates the entertainment, fashion, and more from the 1990s. Honored guests will include GSC’s former Student Body Presidents, who will also serve collectively as Parade Marshal for the Saturday morning parade. Additionally, all alumni are encouraged to attend the alumni tailgate before the football game on Saturday afternoon.
Orientation Weekend for New Students Ushers in Fall Semester at GSC
Over 300 freshmen arrived on campus at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College on Friday, August 14 for the 2015 fall term. Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College's class of 2019 is made up of students from throughout West Virginia, fourteen other states, and the District of Columbia.
Roush Named New Pioneer Mascot
Matthew Roush, a freshman from Beverly, Ohio, has been named the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Pioneer Mascot for the 2015-2016 school year.
5K for Autism Awareness Raises Nearly $2,000
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College student organization Pioneers for a Cause held their 'Color a World Without Autism' 5K run/walk on Wednesday, April 15th. Approximately 160 GSC students, faculty, staff, and community members of all ages were in attendance.
GSC to Host Annual Fall Open House
Plans are underway for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Fall 2014 Pioneer Preview to take place on Saturday, October 25th.
