GLENVILLE, WV - An ecumenical 'Blessing of the College' event took place on Wednesday, August 13 at Â鶹ÊÓƵState College. Students, faculty, and staff were in attendance for the service that aimed to offer a time of reflection and prayer for the upcoming school year.
The event was organized by the GSC Wesley Foundation and pastors of Â鶹ÊÓƵarea churches. Reverend Mark James from Trinity United Methodist Church, Reverend Karen Kinney from Â鶹ÊÓƵPresbyterian Church, and Reverend Joshua Stevens from Good Shepherd Catholic Church were present to offer blessings for the fall semester. Other church leaders who were unable to attend sent greetings in their absence.
James also spoke of his role in coordinating the Wesley Foundation at Â鶹ÊÓƵState College and how it can provide a spiritual outlet for students who seek it.
