The 鶹ƵState College American Humanics and SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) student organizations have recently teamed up with the 鶹ƵStreet Gang for the annual Spring Sweep and West Virginia Make it Shine citywide cleanup. The group swept the streets and sidewalks of downtown 鶹Ƶand also picked up trash along the way. The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection provided trash bags and work gloves while the City of 鶹Ƶprovided brooms, shovels, and wheel barrows.
âThe students in the American Humanics program at 鶹ƵState College live to make a difference in their communities. The 鶹ƵSpring Sweep gave them a nice opportunity to make an impact even in the slightest way. We hope to make this a regular occurrence, in conjunction with local business owners of course, to keep 鶹Ƶshining brightly,â said GSC American Humanics Coordinator Meredith Gillett.
âThere was a great turn out from both the college and the local community. We hope to participate in future 鶹ƵStreet Gang endeavors,â said GSC American Humanics Student Association President Matthew Thompson.
