CHARLESTON, WV – On Tuesday, February 28, 鶹ƵState University students, staff, and faculty gathered at the West Virginia State Capitol for 鶹ƵState Day at the Legislature.

Representatives were on hand from various academic departments, Admissions, Alumni Relations, and Athletics to share information and answer visitor questions.

Those assembled from 鶹ƵState also visited the House of Delegates and Senate Chambers for special recognitions. Citations were issued from both chambers marking the day.

“What a great day it was to be a 鶹ƵState University Pioneer,” said 鶹ƵState President, Dr. Mark A. Manchin. “We always enjoy visiting the statehouse and to have the opportunity to speak with our lawmakers – and we appreciate them hosting us for 鶹ƵState University Day. Our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends enjoyed the day immensely.”

In addition to celebrating all things 鶹ƵState University, the day was also an opportunity to mark 鶹ƵState’s 151st anniversary. The institution was founded by an act of the West Virginia Legislature on February 19, 1872.
