鶹ƵState University has partnered with Marshall University School of Pharmacy to offer students a fast-track (3+4) program of study leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) Degree.

The agreement combines the undergraduate course of study at 鶹ƵState with students being accepted into the Marshall University School of Pharmacy upon completion of their third year.

The fast-track program allows students to transfer coursework back upon the completion of their fourth year to 鶹ƵState from Marshall University School of Pharmacy. Students will in turn receive a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, or Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from 鶹ƵState.

How Do I Get Admitted into the Doctor of Pharmacy Program?

Marshall University School of Pharmacy will grant interview to all 鶹ƵState students who meet the following minimum admission requirements as identified by the appropriate dean or faculty group.

The minimum admission requirements from high school into the Fast-Track program are:

  • Minimum 3.0 high school GPA and be eligible to take college algebra without supplement and college composition without supplement.

The minimum admission requirements for undergraduate students into the 鶹ƵState University Fast-Track Program into Marshall’s School of Pharmacy are:

  • Have a 2.5 cumulative college GPA and be eligible to take or have completed college algebra.

Students must maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA while at 鶹ƵState University to remain in the Fast-Track Program. In addition, Marshall University School of Pharmacy will provide virtual pharmacy peer mentors and 鶹ƵState-specific visit days.


The minimum admission requirements from 鶹ƵState University’s Fast-Track program into Marshall’s School of Pharmacy are:

  1. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 at 鶹ƵState University for all required courses (a grade of C or better must be earned for each of these courses);
  2. Completed application for “Priority Admission” by October 1st the year before they intend to start in the pharmacy program through the online Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS, at );
  3. Submission of the Marshall’s School of Pharmacy supplemental application and all required application fees by the date of on-campus interview.
  4. Successful completion of an on-campus admissions interview during the junior year (interviews are normally held in October).
  5. Student shall be responsible for payment of all fees associated with admission to the Program, including but not limited to the application fee.


Following completion of the first year of Marshall University’s Pharm.D. program, MU will send an official transcript to 鶹ƵState University for students admitted through the Fast-Track program. Courses successfully completed in the first year at Marshall will be reverse transferred to 鶹ƵState University for credit, and students will be awarded a 鶹ƵState University bachelor’s degree once all necessary criteria are met.
