Â鶹ÊÓƵState University hosted the West Virginia Sheriff’s Association Leadership Academy from July 16th-21st, 2023. This year, 92 students from the 55 counties of West Virginia signed up to learn leadership and public safety service skills including K9 deployments, firearms training, physical fitness, CPR/First aid, life skills, crime scene and vehicle accident investigations, and much more.

Jacob Bullard, a senior criminal justice major at Â鶹ÊÓƵState College, was interning with the Burnsville Police Department alongside Chief Jim Ball when they received a call for an unconscious subject. Upon arrival, Bullard, who recently acquired his CPR certification, was the first to assess the victim and noted no pulse or respiration.

CJ Student Participates in Internship on Golden State Killer Task Force

Peterson was an Investigative Assistant Intern and, as part of her duties, was assigned to the Golden State Killer (GSK) task force where she worked under Investigator Erika Hutchcraft.
