GSC Again Offering Evening Classes in Braxton County

 Â鶹ÊÓƵState College is continuing its tradition of offering a wide array of evening classes in Braxton County to accommodate students who might have difficulty making it to the GSC campus to take classes during the day. Several weekly evening Â鶹ÊÓƵState College courses are scheduled to be held this fall at Braxton County High School in the Braxton County Center.
Â鶹ÊÓƵState College Recognizes Nine Outstanding Alumni

 Alumni and friends of Â鶹ÊÓƵState College gathered on campus for Alumni Day on Saturday, April 27th where they enjoyed tours of the new Waco Center, lots of bluegrass music on the back lawn of the Alumni Center, and the evening’s alumni awards banquet where nine outstanding graduates were recognized.
GSC Yearbook and Campus Newspaper Archives Now Online

 Â鶹ÊÓƵState College's Robert F. Kidd Library staff recently finished digitally archiving the long-time campus newspaper, The Â鶹ÊÓƵMercury as well the college yearbook, the Kanawhachen.
GSC Invites Community to Help Welcome Incoming Students

 On Friday, August 15th, new students will be welcomed to Â鶹ÊÓƵState College (GSC) for the 2014-2015 academic school year. To help the new students learn about the Â鶹ÊÓƵcommunity - including local businesses, churches, and other groups that might interest them - GSC is hosting a Campus Picnic & Community Fair.
Three Honored as Emeriti Faculty at GSC

 Three Â鶹ÊÓƵState College professors were recognized recently as emeriti faculty; joining 32 other GSC professors who share the title. The honors were bestowed upon Dr. Kathy Butler, Dr. Sherry Jones, and Dr. Michael Smith at the 140th Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 10, 2014.
GSC ROTC Cadets Participate in Battle of Bulltown Staff Ride

 Members of the Â鶹ÊÓƵState College Army ROTC program recently took part in a 'Staff Ride' at the Bulltown Historic Area located in Braxton County, West Virginia. A Staff Ride is an opportunity for members of a military organization to study historic operations and apply current principles, while fostering a sense of camaraderie with their brethren of the past.
Swimming Lessons Being Held at GSC

 Swimming lessons soon will be held at Â鶹ÊÓƵState College for local residents. Sign-ups will take place Tuesday, June 17th, Wednesday, June 18th, and Thursday, June 19th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the GSC Pool, located in the basement of the Physical Education Building. Student swimming abilities will be tested during sign-ups.
Two GSC Students Elected to Public Office

 Conner Ferguson, a Gilmer County native, and Brianna McClain, a Lewis County native, are both students at Â鶹ÊÓƵState College who are getting involved in local politics at a young age.
Incoming Freshmen Invited to Register at GSC

 Incoming Â鶹ÊÓƵState College freshmen, who will be members of the Class of 2018, are invited to complete their course registrations on Saturday, June 21st at GSC's Registration Day. The day's activities begin at 9:00 a.m. with a check in and continental breakfast in the Land Resources Area of GSC’s new Waco Center.
