Annual Bluegrass Concert Date Announced
The annual Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Bluegrass Concert will be held on Saturday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the GSC Fine Arts Center Auditorium, which is located on GSC’s main campus at 200 High Street in Glenville, West Virginia.
Japanese Outreach Coordinator Comes to GSC
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College has recently been selected as a host-site for the Japan Outreach Initiative (JOI). This program is designed to promote cultural awareness and understanding of Japan in the United States.

A Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College graduate and current GSC professor recently coauthored an article on soil disturbances caused by pocket gophers at different elevations and the impact they have on the ecosystem.
Wess Harris to Present at GSC
On Tuesday, August 21 Wess Harris will visit Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College as a part of the ongoing ‘We, too, are Appalachia’ project. The series of performances and presentations, made possible by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College and the West Virginia Humanities Council, are an exploration of identity and place regarding rural West Virginia.
GSC's Pioneer Stage in Downtown Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµto hold Grand Opening
The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Bluegrass Program has recently relocated to The Pioneer Stage at 10 East Main Street in downtown Glenville. The Pioneer Stage will serve as the Bluegrass Music Education Center for GSC and will be open to the public after the grand opening.
GSC Marching Band to Perform at Band Bash on August 17
The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College ‘Wall of Sound’ Marching Band will have a feature performance at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµPresbyterian Church ‘Band Bash’ on Friday, August 17. The event will take place from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the band performance beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Skiles Named Athletic Director
Jesse Skiles has been named Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College’s new Athletic Director. His new appointment will take effect July 1.
First GSC Youth Bluegrass Camp to be Held at Bean Blossom Festival
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College’s Bluegrass Program will host the first of five planned youth bluegrass day camps beginning this week, Saturday, June 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bill Monroe’s Bean Blossom Festival in Bean Blossom, Indiana.
