GSC Receives Instrumentation Grant from Weyerhaeuser

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Land Resource Department recently was awarded its third grant from the Weyerhaeuser Company to purchase forestry tools to be used in GSC’s Forest Technology program. This year’s grant follows those awarded in 2011 and 2012, and will be used to purchase a laser dendrometer, a device used when estimating the area and volume of a forested plot.

GSC Fall 2014 President's Honor List Announced

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Fall 2014 President's Honor List has been announced. To be named to the list, students must have a 4.0 grade point average and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Fall 2014 Provost's Honor List has been announced. To be named to the list, students must have grade point averages between 3.5 and 3.9 and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

GSC Student Named Outstanding Accounting Senior in WV

The West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants has selected GSC student Ashley Woodford as their Outstanding Accounting Senior. The annual award recognizes seniors majoring in accounting from colleges and universities across West Virginia.

GSC Group Presents at National Conference

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College students and professors recently presented at the International Writing Centers Association (IWCA) and the National Council of Peer Tutors of Writing (NCPTW) joint three-day conference held at Walt Disney World's Coronado Springs Resort in Florida. Assistant Professors of English Dr. Marjorie Stewart and Dr. Melody Wise along with students Larissa DeLuca and Annetta Snyder presented a 75-minute session at the event.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College students and faculty took part in the West Virginia Reading Association's (WVRA) 59th Annual State Conference at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs in late November. The conference theme, 'Reading with the Arts: Off the Charts,' honored the arts and their connection to literacy.

GSC December Graduates Receive Their Diplomas; Heffelfinger Gives Keynote Address

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College's first full winter commencement ceremony took place on Saturday, December 13th. The graduates, officially part of the Class of 2015, completed requirements for an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a variety of academic areas including business, criminal justice, teacher education, and natural resource management among others.

Three GSC Students Graduate from GSC's Hidden Promise Program

GSC Cable Channel Launches on Shentel

GSC TV is now on the air for Shentel Cable TV customers. The new Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College channel focuses on academics and athletics at GSC and is a part of Shentel's cable lineup for digital subscribers throughout West Virginia. Shentel customers can find GSC TV on Channel 182.
