Huck Receives Student Leadership Award at GSC Commencement
Kayleigh Huck, a 2015 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College teacher education graduate, was presented with the Student Leadership Award at GSC's Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 9. She is the daughter of Steve and Maria Huck of Delaware, Ohio.
2015 Pioneer Showcase Winners Announced
The winners of the fifth annual Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Pioneer Showcase Creative Arts and Research Forum have been announced. The competition, which is judged by GSC faculty, allows full-time GSC students the opportunity to formally present their research and creative arts abstracts.
GSC Graphic Design Students Complete Project for NASA IV&V Facility
Students in the Fine Arts Department at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College recently completed an eye-catching new display to use during career fairs, conferences, and meetings for the staff of NASA's Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Facility in Fairmont, West Virginia.
GSC Professor Keeps Busy Within Music Community
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Associate Professor of Music and Fine Arts Department Chair Lloyd Bone was recently a featured guest lecturer for the Southeastern Regional Tuba Euphonium Conference (SERTEC) at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. The bi-annual conference is one of the largest low brass conferences in the country.
Commencement Ceremony is May 9th at GSC
The 141st Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Commencement Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 9th beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the college's Waco Center.
GSC ROTC Cadets Participate in Spring Leadership Development Exercise
Held annually in April, the spring Joint Leadership Development Exercise (JLDX) typically takes place among the three West Virginia college Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) battalions. Those being the battalions from West Virginia University, Marshall University, and the 'Yellow Jacket Battalion' which is comprised of units from West Virginia State University, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College, the University of Charleston, and West Virginia University Institute of Technology.
District V Literature Fair Held at GSC
Over eighty students from around the area gathered recently at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College for a Literature Fair sponsored by District V of the West Virginia Reading Association (WVRA).
GSC Students Present at Undergraduate Research Day
The 12th annual Undergraduate Research Day was held in the West Virginia State Capitol rotunda on Wednesday, March 4th. Undergraduate Research Day is sponsored by the Higher Education Policy Commission Division of Science and Research and the West Virginia Department of Education and the Arts.
