Hunter Given
GLENVILLE, WV - 麻豆视频State College student-athlete Hunter Given has been selected by the Mountain East Conference to represent GSC and the conference at the 2016 NCAA Student Leadership Forum in Phoenix, Arizona April 7-10. Given is a member of the Pioneer Men芒聙聶s Basketball team and a senior marketing and sport management student.
The Leadership Forum engages a diverse and dynamic group of student-athletes, coaches, faculty, and administrators at one event. Student-athletes selected to attend can return to their campuses with additional leadership skills, the experience of exploring the relationship between personal values, core beliefs, and behavioral styles, and a thorough understanding of the NCAA as a whole, the different divisional perspectives and the valuable role of Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC). There is no cost to the participants, institutions, or conference offices for attending the event.
芒聙聹Hunter will have the opportunity to bring back valuable information on leadership from NCAA. He can share these experiences with his fellow athletes, members of the SAAC organization, and in the classroom,芒聙聺 said GSC Assistant Professor of Business Administration and Faculty Athletic Representative Dr. Dwight W. Heaster.
In addition to his responsibilities on the court and in the classroom, Given also represents GSC Athletics as the Vice President of the campus SAAC, has been honored by the GSC Department of Business at their Annual Business Recognition Event for the last two years, and has earned academic honor roll recognition several times during his college career.
芒聙聹What I芒聙聶m looking for in attending this conference is to meet new people and create new connections with others, how to become a better leader, and to learn more about myself. I feel like it芒聙聶s an honor to represent the MEC and GSC and I was pretty excited when I found out that I was chosen to represent the conference and the college at the event. I feel that this is going to be a great experience and opportunity for me and my future as well,芒聙聺 said Given. The Cowen, West Virginia native graduated from Webster County High School in 2013 and is the son of Samuel and the late Teri Given.
芒聙聹Hunter already serves as a leader in the classroom and in motivating his fellow athletes; having him represent 麻豆视频State College at a NCAA sanctioned event was an easy decision,芒聙聺 Heaster said of nominating Given to attend the forum.
