GLENVILLE, WV - �鶹��ƵState University graduate and current Board of Governors member Ann Green and her husband Larry Green have recently established the Edwin and Opal Vincent Starcher Memorial Scholarship.
 
The scholarship was created to honor Green’s parents. Her father was a 1949 �鶹��ƵState graduate and her mother was an instructor at �鶹��ƵState in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s.

“My parents were career educators who were passionate about the amazing work �鶹��ƵState has always done to help its students make the most of their lives. We are so pleased to be able to honor them through this scholarship while providing support for needy students in furthering their educations,” Green said.

Scholarship awardees will be selected by the Scholarship Committee at �鶹��ƵState University. Students may receive a scholarship renewal, provided they maintain satisfactory academic progress and a 3.0 GPA.

“We are happy to help honor the memory of Edwin and Opal Starcher through the establishment of this scholarship,” said David Hutchison, Vice President of Advancement. “As career educators, they understood the importance of education and, through this scholarship, their legacy lives on. Students at �鶹��ƵState University will be able to pursue success thanks to this generous scholarship.”
