Curriculum Vitae
Professor Barr joined the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College faculty in 2012 from Myrtle Beach, SC where he was a band director for Horry County Schools and the house saxophonist for the Myrtle Beach House of Blues. He currently teaches courses in Applied Woodwinds, Music Theory, and directs the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Woodwind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Jazz Combo.

Notable Performances and Presentations:
- Performances with Jerry Coker, Terry Gibbs, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Dennis DiBlasio, Conrad Herwig, Joe Lovano, and Dave Bargeron
- Performed in opening acts for Kool and the Gang, KC and the Sunshine Band, The Gap Band, Chairman of the Board, Montell Jordan, and Salt N Pepa.
- Performed as a featured soloist as a part of the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Percussion Ensemble Concerts in Glenville, WV.
- Performed as a part of the 2012 Democratic National Convention opening ceremonies in Charlotte, NC.
- Directed the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Jazz Combo in performance at the 2014 and 2015 Marshall University Jazz Festivals.
- Presented a lecture and performance on the history of jazz for the Gilmer County Historical Society, July 2014 and August 2015.
- Performed in concert with the Davisson Brothers Band at the opening concert for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµState College Waco Center, August 2014.
